How to Use Code Anatomy

Note...something you should understand

Do not be intimidated by something you're new to, and can't seem to understand at first.

Just read the instructions and guidelines, or whatever code-Anatomy shows you carefully, and it might appear as easy as you think.

Feel free to make mistakes:

Do not be expected to get everything right at the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd try.

This is a gamifyable tool, so feel free mess around and play around with it as much as you can. Besides, what better way to learn by playing around with tools?

Screen display issue:

firstly!! refresh your screen if scenario is unable to display.

If your screen looks strange, or it does not display scenario, please adjust your screen size by using the zoom feature on your windows laptop.

To find the zoom feature, click on the 3 dots"..." at the top right of your screen, then select the zoom + or - sign to get a clear view.

Scenario

Click on the scenario to get your case study.

Things you need to know:

The scenario is made up of a person's age, gender, and symptoms.

Code Inputs

Input codes to complete each case study.

Things you need to know:

Every code starts with >>> and ends with a ;(a semi-colon).

In between >>> and ; lies keywords and signs that are used. Other signs are hyphens -, parentheses (), and periods .except for>>>hint;.

There are two kinds of codes:

One for finding answers: formula is = >>>keyword-(body part or disease);

Example is:

>>>name-(bronchitis);

One for getting answers and hints: formula is = >>>keyword.keyword-();

Example is:

>>>organ.function-();

Keywords are: [check, name, organ, disease, cause, function, tissue, cell, option, system, number, treatment, use, suggest]

Some keywords can be combined with other keywords to get answers, while some require you to input the name of a body part or disease or system.

Note!! if you want you can write the name of organ,tissue or system with no keycode, just make sure that the spelling is correct and no spacing at the end of the last word.

Example is:

brain or connective tissue or reproductive system

Coins

This is one of the primary rewards you earn and use as you play with Code Anatomy.

Things you need to know:

You earn coins as you write in a code. The number of coins you earn depends on the code you write. But beware, not every code earns you a coin; some require you to lose some coins, especially when you're trying to get a hint.

Run Used and Run Limit

Once you click the run button, your code output will be displayed. However...

Things you need to know:

You will have a limited number of "Runs," meaning that the more you click on the run button while in the same case study, your chances of continuing the case decrease.

Users always have 20 chances of running their code. Once you've used up all the "Runs" and the Run used is 0, it will take you to the next scenario but won't save your progress.

Progress

This tracks your success rate in finishing a case.

Things you need to know:

As you run correct codes, your percentages for solving a case increase. There are two types of progress that track two types of cases: clinical and anatomical progress.

You can either write code that solves clinical cases or anatomical ones, depending on your preference. However, you can only solve one case at a time, either clinical or anatomical.

Once you reach 100% in one of the types of progress, you will receive an additional case reward, either clinical or anatomical, depending on the codes you used the most.

Cases

Just like the coin, this is also a reward system, but for this one, you only earn it as you solve each case.

Things you need to know:

There are two types of cases: clinical and anatomical cases. Clinical cases are rewards you earn for writing codes that are clinically related. Anatomical cases are rewards you earn for anatomically related writing codes.

If you want to know whether or not your code is anatomical or clinical, then take a look at both progress on the screen. However, some codes contain both clinical and anatomical cases as well.
